What images are available?
The library provides a selection of images for each of BAA's six UK airports. The images cover terminal exteriors, airfield, check-in and aerials. We also have generic images for retail, security, Heathrow Terminal 5 and key BAA management figures, e.g. board members, executive committee members and airport managing directors.
How long will it take for the registration to be completed?
We aim to respond to your request on the same day, although registration may take up to three working days to complete. However, if you have an urgent deadline, please complete the registration form and then call BAA's Media Library Management Team on

. BAA will need to assess your details before providing login access.
How am I allowed to use the images?
The images can only be used to accompany articles related to BAA and its operations. When downloading images, you will be asked to input brief details stating how you intend to use the image. The images must not be used for any other purposes and remain copyright of BAA Limited.
Do I have to pay for the images?
No, once your registration has been accepted there is no charge for use of the images. However, usage is restricted to accompanying BAA-related articles only. Please read our Terms and Conditions for details.
Who owns the copyright?
The copyright of all images in this library belongs to BAA Limited.
Do I have to declare what I intend to use the images for?
Yes, prior to downloading a high resolution image you will asked to provide basic details of how and where the image will be used.
In what format are the images supplied?
Photos are downloadable as RGB JPEG files printable to A4 at 300 dpi. Logos are supplied as CMYK EPS files.
What size do your high-res images print to?
The downloadable high-res images will print up to A4 at 300 dpi. The originals were shot on digital so if you need to use them larger they will have to be enlarged using software such as Adobe Photoshop.
What if I can't find the particular image I'm looking for?
The images within this library are supplied free of charge to news media producing articles related to BAA. If BAA's Media Photo Library does not contain an image you are satisfied with further images can be found on the BAA Aviation Photo Library. Please note that as a commercial library, usage rates will apply. Queries relating to BAA's Media Photo Library can be answered by BAA's Media Library management team on +44 1992 501134.
Once I have downloaded a high-resolution image, can I manipulate or enhance the image to fit my brief?
Enhancements that do not affect the fundamental content of the image are allowed, such as cropping and colour adjustment. However, producing derivative works such as composites breaches our copyright.
Can I store the images on my system?
No, images must not be retained. If you wish to use them again, please follow the download procedure again to obtain the image.
Do I need to supply a copy of the article that the image is used to illustrate?
Yes. Please post it to: BAA Media Library, c/o In-Press Photography Ltd, Green Dragon Vaults, Parliament Square, Hertford, Herts, SG14 1PT, UK.
Can I reuse the image?
No, once the image has been used for the relevant article it must be deleted from your system. If you require the image again for another article, please follow the procedure again, outlining the new use.
What if I want to use an image for a non-BAA related article?
The images supplied from this library can only be used to accompany BAA-related articles. Under no circumstances may they be used to illustrate non-BAA-related articles. All images remain copyright of BAA Limited. Please use BAA's commercial library to license images for any other use.
Can I use the photos on our website?
Yes, provided the image accompanies a BAA-related article.
Can I send these images electronically to third parties?
The images may only be transmitted electronically for supplying your print house/design department in relation to the declared use. Images must not, under any circumstances, be supplied to third parties for use additional to that declared when originally downloaded.
